Friend,
We have seen fights in schools that have been organized through social media and massive amounts of bullying.
We have seen countless children glued to their cell phones and computers.
In fact, according to Gallup, the average time spent on social media climbs from FOUR+ hours per day for 13-year-olds to as high as SIX hours per day for 17-year-olds.
Take action now. Tell the state Senate Fiscal Policy Committee to protect kids from harm.
But thankfully, some conservatives in the Free State of Florida have a solution!
HB 1/SB 1788 (Social Media Use for Minors) and HB 3/SB 1792 (Age Verification for Online Materials Harmful to Minors) will be taken up by the Senate Fiscal Policy Committee tomorrow, February 15th.
HB 1/SB 1788 would ban social media use for minors 16 and under.
HB 3/SB 1792 would require age verification for online materials harmful to minors. Currently, any child can gain access to obscene materials online with little restriction. This bill would put an end to this.
Help protect the hope for Florida’s children. Send this petition to the Senate Fiscal Policy Committee now and help protect students from the harm of obscene materials and the negative effects of social media.
