Tell Senator Truenow and Representative Alvarez to remove sections 47 and 48 of their bills that would stop parents from finding information about food and how it may impact their children.

Two twin bills have been filed in the state of Florida. These bills expand Florida’s “food libel” law and threaten free speech. We are asking for legislators to strike section 47 in HB 433 and section 48 in SB 290.

The bills expand Florida’s current “food libel” law far beyond its original purpose. it uses vague, overly broad language that could be used against: everyday Floridians, journalists, researchers and advocacy groups

Not only do these sections go against free speech, but they will impact how parents can find out information related to food and how it will impact their child.

Please tell the two sponsors to remove this dangerous language.
