Civic Education Curriculum bills HB 5 and SB 1450 will be heard by the House Education & Employment Committee and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee Respectively on Wednesday March 17, 2021 Bills HB 5 and SB 1450 (Civic Education Curriculum) mandate that all Florida students be educated about the blessings of liberty, the founding principles of the American Republic, and how political ideologies such as communism and totalitarianism are incompatible with the ideas upon which our nation is built. Moreover, this legislation is aimed at fostering a sense of civic duty and civic-mindedness in students, teaching them the duties of republican citizenship and how to properly advocate before political bodies.
